Find your crew. Meet them IRL.

We find the gamers near you who play what you play. Not a generic meetup. A room full of people who already share your interests.

How it works

Here's what we're building.

Step 01
📍

Join your region

Pick your metro area and tell us what you play. We drop you into a local crew of gamers with overlapping interests. No searching, no swiping.

Step 02
🎯

See who's near you

We map exactly how your gaming interests overlap with real people near you. Not a generic gamer group. Specific overlap, down to the games you actually play. You'll know there are 14 Elden Ring fans nearby, but you can't DM them. Yet.

Step 03
🍕

Show up IRL

We organize local meetups at real venues like cafés, gaming lounges, and parks. Show up, meet your crew face-to-face, and unlock the ability to actually connect with people you've met.

You've got 200 friends online and nobody to grab lunch with.

The post-COVID world left a lot of us with full Discord servers and empty weekends. We're more connected than ever and lonelier than ever. But gaming is the most specific shared interest on the planet. Nobody bonds over "I also like video games." They bond over "you play Baldur's Gate too?" Roost starts with that specific connection.

What we deliberately don't do.

🚫

No messaging

You can't DM anyone. The only next step is showing up.

🚫

No social feed

Nothing to scroll. Open the app for events, close it after.

🚫

No gamertag sharing

Contact info unlocks only after meeting someone in person.

🚫

No engagement tricks

We don't optimize for screen time. A "boring" app that gets you out the door is the goal.

Why this exists

Roost was started by a gaming industry veteran with a background in behavioral science who kept seeing the same thing everywhere: millions of gamers deeply connected online but completely isolated in real life. The research is clear that shared interests are the strongest foundation for lasting friendships. But nobody was connecting people by the specific games they play and putting them in the same room. Not a generic gaming group. Actual overlap, down to the titles. So we're building it. Portland is first.
